Garden City School Visit
Blue Moku Publishing's first reading at Garden City Elementary was an incredibly positive experience of learning and sharing.
4 classes ranging from Kindergarten to Gr. 2 visited the school library to meet with us, listen to a reading of "The Rainbow Garden is My Friend", and ask as many questions as their hearts desired!
We held a discussion on the main theme of the book -- courage. Garden City students were very active participants, and we were impressed by their capacity to think critically.
Our primary goal during these visits is to create enthusiasm for reading, and to encourage students to develop a curiosity for books. We keep our visits highly interactive. Our philosophy -- reading is adventurous!
The reading of "The Rainbow Garden is My Friend" included a felt storyboard and felt characters from our storybook. We also shared magical Rainbow Garden wands which kept the students smiling all afternoon!
As educators, we are passionate about creating positive learning experiences. We will always strive to encourage and support every student we have an opportunity to meet.
