Storytelling Workshop hosted by Blue Moku Publishing
Congratulations to all participants of our Storytelling Workshop for stepping out of their comfort zones!
Here's the magic of storytelling – sharing from the heart often requires a little bit of risk, and therefore creates trust, a genuine connection, and a meaningful shared experience! We encouraged students to experience this first-hand.
This special workshop hosted by Blue Moku Publishing started off with the author, Amy Takeda, and illustrator, Dawn Lo, sharing their own personal stories. We discussed the main components of a story (character, setting, conflict, plot, theme), and handed out activity books to students to help them organize their very own stories.
After some preparation, it was the students turn to share!
We understand it can be tough to stand up in front of an audience and talk. The purpose of this workshop was to overcome this resistance. We were impressed by each student’s bravery!
Their stories were wonderfully structured with themes such as sharing, friendship, acceptance, new experiences, and dreams.
We look forward to seeing you all again at our next adventure!
"Blue Moku Publishing were an absolute pleasure to work with through the ACNW's ArtsToGo program. The workshop ran smoothly and they were incredibly easy to work with. Their approach and manner was sincere and genuine. Most importantly, they encouraged and nurtured the participant's creativity as they inspired them to create their own stories and share them with the group. Looking forward to working with Blue Moku Publishing again."
